Zebicon becomes part of big DTU research project
A digital twin will keep the wind turbines going
Together with manufacturers and subcontractors from the wind industry, DTU Wind power has received DKK 44 million for developing and demonstrating techniques for manufacturing of digital twins of physical wind turbine blades. This has been published in a press release from the Danish Energy Section. A digital twin is a copy of a manufactured blade. The twin is created using 3D scanning. Zebicon will supply the new research project with the essential 3D data needed to document the blades’ actual geometry regarding design, production and use. The result is a 3D mesh which can be used for several purposes, such as reverse engineering, geometric analysis, dimensioning, and simulation. Read more (DK)
