3D Scanning is in focus at HI Tech & Industry Scandinavia
Experience the latest in 3D Tech when HI Tech & Industry Scandinavia takes place in Herning on October 3-5, 2023.
This year's HI trade show features a section which gathers exhibitors within 3D Tech. Here visitors can experience the latest in 3D printing, 3D scanning and 3D software. Technologies that have gained widespread recognition and use in the industry in recent years. In this area you can meet Zebicon, among others.
What is 3D scanning?
3D scanning is a technology used to create a digital 3D model of a physical object. The process involves collecting data of the geometry and surface of the object, which can be done with different technologies and types of measuring equipment.
CEO, Jeppe Hebsgaard Laursen, explains, "The most commonly used technology in high-end measuring equipment is structured 3D light scanning. Here, a light pattern is projected onto the surface of the object, which is used to calculate the surface geometry of the object."
Another technique that is particularly popular for handheld solutions is 3D laser scanning. In 3D laser scanning, laser beams are sent down onto the surface of the part to measure the time it takes for the light beam to reflect back. The scanner uses this information to measure the distance and create a 3D model of the object.
Jeppe Hebsgaard Laursen adds, "A third technology that we primarily use for 3D coordinate measurement of large components is photogrammetry. This technology involves taking a series of photographs of the part from different angles and using software to analyze the images and generate a 3D model by determining the location and shape of the part by comparing the different images."
3D scanning can be used for many purposes, including industrial design and manufacturing, documentation, quality control and inspection, and reconstruction of worn parts and tools.
Experience 3D scanning with live demonstration at Zebicon's booth
At the HI trade show, we will be presenting a range of 3D scanners. Here visitors can experience 3D light scanners such as ATOS Q, ATOS 5, and the automated solution ATOS ScanBox 4105. In addition, Zebicon will give a live demonstration of the new handheld 3D laser scanner, T-SCAN hawk 2. On October 3-5, Zebicon will be ready at booth K-8252 to talk about 3D scanning and discuss possible solutions based on the individual company's needs and challenges.
